01The room you are in

Chapterhouse has no public feed, no strangers, and no audience. Everything you post — thread messages, questions, hot takes, quiz questions — lands in front of your own chapter and no one else. That makes most moderation unnecessary, and makes the little that remains matter more: when something goes wrong in a room this small, it goes wrong between people who know each other.

02What has no place here

These are the lines. They match the reasons offered when you report something in the app.

• Harassment or bullying. Piling on a member, targeting them, or using the app's mechanics — ribbons, forfeits, quiz night — as instruments of cruelty. The app names no one when a shared ribbon falls; take the hint.
• Hate or abuse. Attacks on people for who they are — race, religion, sex, sexuality, gender, disability, or anything of the kind.
• Sexual content. Chapterhouse is for talk about books, some of which are about sex; posting sexual material is another matter and does not belong here. Any sexual content involving minors is reported to the authorities and ends the account, immediately and without appeal.
• Threats or violence. Threatening, inciting, or glorifying violence against anyone.
• Spam or misleading content. Adverts, scams, phishing, and anything posted to deceive.
• Unlawful content and impersonation. Anything illegal to post, and pretending to be someone you are not.

03Reporting

Anything a member posts can be reported from inside the app. Choose the closest reason and add detail if it helps. The author is not told who reported them, and the review stays private. A person reads every report; content that breaks these standards is removed, and reports of abusive or objectionable content are acted on within 24 hours.

04Blocking

You can block any member from the app. Their content is hidden from you from that moment; they are not notified, and unblocking is yours to do whenever you choose. Blocking works even inside a chapter you share.

05Consequences

Depending on what a report turns up: the content comes down, the member is warned, or the account is suspended or closed. The zero-tolerance cases in §02 skip the warnings. Separately, every chapter's Chapter Master can remove a member from that chapter at any time — the chapter's own standards are theirs to keep.

06Disagreements

If something you posted was removed and you think that was wrong, or you reported something and nothing seemed to happen, write to hello@chapterhouse.club and a person will look at it again. These standards sit alongside the terms and conditions and the privacy policy.
